About Me
Natalie Estelle Marsan, here! Since I was little, I have had a proclivity for performance. Even as a toddler, I had a Jim Carrey face according to my aunt because of how naturally expressive I was. Whether it was in the family living room or on the stage, I have always commanded attention for my storytelling.
In a musical, a character sings when words aren't enough anymore, and that's how I approach singing. I sing and write songs and have broad musical tastes to include genres like country, indie, pop, folk, and Golden Age Broadway songs.
Along with my songwriting, I am a playwright. I am drawn to dissecting nuclear family dynamics, religion and romantic relationships in my storytelling, with Paula Vogel and Tracy Letts being my two biggest writing inspirations.
The great Ellen Burstyn once said, "Acting comes with a personal cost. If you are unwilling to pay for your art, find a different purpose." I know what she means. In working with techniques such as the Method, Meisner, and Feldenkrais, I have realized that I am a big old well of art and creativity and I'm not close to drying up anytime soon. Acting grounds me, it gives me a sense of direction, and it also scares me out of complacency. I find a tremendous amount of joy with the freedom I feel getting to live authentically in front of other people, whether that be through my words, singing or acting. But enough about me, I want to get to know you. Feel free to reach out, I'll talk your ear off!
